Customer reference for building, converting services as told to pickapro by Padraig Conaghan from Celbridge on 11-May-2011
When was the work done?
In Summer 2010.
What was involved?
Stephen completely renovated a house in Donegal for me. It was a house that was left to the weather for 7 or 8 years and was in a very bad state. There was plaster falling of the walls, dampness Stephen renovated the whole house - lock, stock and barrel. He did doors, floor tiling, wall tiling, wooden floors, painting. He's going to start work on the gardens next - clean them out and do paving outside.
Stephen also did the paving job for our house and the house next door in Celbridge. And during the winter, he did an attic conversion. He made part of it into an office and another part into a storage room. He did a fantastic job.
How did you choose Shinte Home Improvements?
Stephen's my son. He's being working in construction all his life, and in latter years has been managing large construction projects. When construction work faded out, Stephen went out on his own. He can turn his hand to anything.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Stephen ?
To be honest, I left it to him and he managed the whole thing.
How did the project run?
Very well. Stephen's very logical. He's into providing a good service and doing it on time.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Shinte Home Improvements?
Whatever I wanted done, Stephen would go and get it done. He'd add value himself - he'd make suggestions. It was just the ease of working with him.
What's your favourite part now?
He turned the house in Donegal around. It was absolutely unliveable. He turned it into a very comfortable, cosy, clean, bright house.
Would you recommend Shinte Home Improvements to others?
Absolutely, no hesitation. I know he's my son, but his work speaks for itself.
